Using the same gateway for more than one location

A common question is whether or not you can use the same gateway account for more than one gateway.

You most certainly can!

The Merchant Account for the gateway is just an endpoint for transactions to go to -- so if transactions are intended for the same entity, you may use the same setup credentials for the gateway of your choice.

The most common case for this is when multiple locations are owned by a single entity (i.e., non-franchised). "Joe's Pizzeria" may use the same bank account across all their locations for transactions from their in-store merchant processor. As long as the account on the merchant side has any specific requirements or conditions met for using one account per multiple locations, there shouldn't be any problem. We suggest checking with your gateway provider to ensure this is OK.
