Setting Up Half/Half Pizza Toppings

Pizza -- a circular portrait of perfection. To some pizza connoisseurs, though, perfection *can* be improved upon in the form of splitting toppings down the middle of their pie. If your restaurant happens to give customers that option, we've got just what you need to help them build their masterpiece via your Paytronix Online Ordering menu.

Checklist

1. Add an Item
2. Add description and price
3. Go to Options and click add toppings button as necessary
4. Make sure your topping options are in the same order and correctly spelled.
5. Check Allow Multiple Choices checkbox for each option
6. Check the default checkbox if the option is a default toppings
7. Add prices to your options
8. Check Use Half/Half Pizza Toppings checkbox
9. Add Toppings Set
10. Save once complete

Let's say you've got a menu item created that's called "Build Your Own Pizza". If you click the Edit button on that menu item (or any menu item you've created, for that matter), you'll see a "Use Half/Half Pizza Toppings" checkbox underneath the Options section, like this:

When you click on the checkbox...go ahead, click on it. I'll wait here.

When you click on the checkbox, it'll reveal an area containing dropdowns to select which option you want to use for each "section" of the pizza ("Main", "Left Side" and "Right Section", with "Main" referring to the entire pizza):

Here's where the fun starts. Before we can really do anything, we need to create options that we can use in our Main, Left Side and Right Side dropdowns. In the screenshot below, you'll see that I've created 3 options, one for the whole pizza, one for the left side and one for the right side:

The option names don't have to be the exact same as what we created above, but keep in mind that they will be visible to the customer, so they need to be intuitive as to which part of the pizza each option will cover. Please note that the Allow Multiple Choices checkbox is checked for each of these options. This *must* be checked for each option that will be used in the Half/Half Pizza Toppings section.

Also, the values within the options you'll be using for the half/half function need to be in the same order and have the same spelling across the board. For example, the values for Whole Pizza Toppings, Left Side Pizza Toppings and Right Side Pizza Topping are the exact same in each option (Pepperoni, Sausage, Mushrooms and Onions, in that order):

Failure to keep the values the same within each option will result in the half/half function not working properly. You'll also want to make sure that you save your newly-added options before trying to apply them to the Half/Half Pizza Toppings section.

Now that we have options created (and saved), we need to assign them to the Half/Half Pizza Toppings dropdowns, like so:

After you do this, make sure to click the Submit button at the bottom of the page one more time to save your changes (clicking the Add Topping Set button below the dropdowns will *not* save your changes; it just allows you to add another set of configurable dropdowns).

Now, if you go to your live menu and click on the menu menu item (in our example, the "Build Your Own Pizza" menu item), it will look something like this:

Now your customers can click on the icon for their preferred toppings and which portion of the pizza they'd like to have that topping cover. Easy as (pizza) pie!
