Adding and Managing Catering Menus

Sometimes, a restaurant has both a "normal" menu used for standard service (lunch, dinner, etc.) and a catering menu with larger portions, different prices, and different timing settings.

In the Paytronix Order & Delivery system, these settings are all managed at the restaurant level, and trying to reconcile normal operations with catering is usually difficult or impossible.

We recommend creating a second "restaurant" for catering, so that the settings can be appropriately configured, such as:

  • The lead/prep time can be set much longer (e.g. 8 hours for catering, instead of 20 minutes for normal service)
  • ASAP ordering can be disabled
  • Hours can be configured differently
  • On the menu, the categories, items, and prices can be set up specifically for catering, instead of mixing the two menus together -- the menu will be more clear
  • Notifications can be configured differently, if desired

Customer Presentation

With a second restaurant for catering vs. standard orders, you will receive a second menu URL.  On your web site, we recommend creating two links or buttons, such as:

  • Order Online: Linked to the standard ordering menu
  • Order Catering Online: Linked to the catering ordering menu
